Mishawaka Marian 179, Wawasee 191, Westview 224
Herron Creek Golf Club in Lagrange played host to a three-way golf match featuring Wawasee, Mishawaka Marian and host Westview. The Lady Knights beat both squads of Warrior women with a team score of 179. Wawasee finished 12 strokes back with Westview bringing up the rear with a combined 224.
Wawasee’s Taylor Cripe shared medalist honors with two Marian golfers, each needing only 41 strokes to complete nine holes. Tate Cowan finished two strokes behind them, firing a 43. Rylee Firestone added 50 shots to the tally while Ayla Torres finished with a 57 to round out the Wawasee scorecard. Delaney Delagrange completed the course with a non-scoring 59.
The afternoon’s split left the Warriors record at 4-2 on the season. “It was a good night in that all the golfers can take something out of their effort,” said Wawasee coach Steve Coverstone.
